Hi, my name is Colleen De Norman. I have been married fifteen years and have a ten-year-old son Joseph, two dogs: Bingo and Daisy, and a cat: Lionel. I have been teaching for a total of seven years in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia: five years as an ELA elementary teacher in the fifth, sixth, and eighth grades. I also taught Preschool for two years at La Petit Academy. I graduated from Arcadia University with a bachelor’s degree in English and a Minor in Education. I am in the process of updating my Secondary Certification for English. I also wrote and published a magazine article supporting Native American youth in 2002 when I worked for the Federal government as a Human Resources and Outreach Coordinator. You will find me writing poetry, playing basketball with my ten-year-old son Joseph or praying to the Sacred Heart of Jesus novena. I recently took care of my 81-year-old father James who passed away in May. He taught me that children are God’s creation and as teachers, we are the gardeners. I dedicate my school year to my Dad. I can’t wait to meet the students at Presentation BVM and grow together with them in Christ.
